I’m also watching this with interest. Would you be able to retain the stock rear mudguard/fender with this?

Should be no problem; the photos show this replacing the axle block and no mount bolts to the fender bracket.

Yes I saw that, it was just whether the angle might mean it came into contact with the bottom of the stock mudguard when a number plate was fitted.
