Jerrman apparently See See Motor Coffee Company, located in Portland sells Hedon helmets. Since you are in Oregon you might take a look. I have never been there but plan to stop by. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

Thanks for the heads-up, Rocky. Online selection looks very limited but, might be worth a stop to see about fit.

Eisen, are those "air channels" in the Hedon Racer adjustable in any way? Can they be opened or closed or is it just a fixed part of the construction? Also, does the shield have stops to keep it open at different points or is it just an open or closed deal? Thanks.

Hi Jerrman.
The little vents are “always open” & not adjustable in any way. Saying that, I bought this primarily as a autumn/winter helmet for the cooler months. I think it will be too hot during peak Spanish summer. However, I have not tried it yet as we are having stormy, wet & humid weather (probably until Sunday).
Also, the visor has 2 positions; fully open or fully closed.

@jerrman

I managed to do a short test ride with the heroine today.
Absolutely fantastic, stunning and comfortable helmet....BUT i think it is too big for me.

I can´t exchange it cause the box has already been thrown away (not by me, might i add....:()
It may simply mean i don´t have a Heroine shaped head (unfortunately).

It is strange how the Hedonist is a tight, perfect fit in an M and yet the Heroine feels too big once on the road.
The helmet, while great when static - began to fall on my brow when i rode with my head tilted forward. Kind of crumpling my eyes and eyebrows (if you get what i mean). This indicates the crown and forehead area were a *touch* big. We are talking mm´s, not cm´s....!
I must have a skull that changes shape with the weather

So WARNING... you MUST try before buying !!!!!

I feel really quite deflated, as i REALLY wanted the Heroine to be a perfect fit.

sorry to hear about the fitment troubles. must be a bummer. the reviews online that i've seen always referred to the hedon's as running small. must not have been in this case. i do find the heroine to be one of the most stunning helmets out there, but i am a little hesitant as don't want to be in the same boat as you. so is a return out of the question now (even without the box, and being worn?) didn't know their return policy. well, if you don't keep it, i'm sure you can find someone who would buy it from you. (and hopefully won't lose out too much on your purchase.)
thanks for your advice and input on this helmet.

Thanks DJ.
It really is stunning. Even my wife said it looks like the “Louis Vuitton” of helmets. I could not have put it better myself!
Really, really miffed about the fit.
Indeed, a return is out of the question now as it’s box-less. But on the bright side, I met a fantastic dealer (designer helmets UK) and will no doubt buy from them again in the near future.
It’ll sell online eventually and the next time I’m in London I’ll make a point of stopping by Urban Rider’s shop to try a different size on.

I put it on for £500 (I think that’s fair for a helmet used for 15 minutes). A new one is £650. Never seen a used one on the market, so really not sure how to price it. Either way, there is no point it collecting dust on my shelve. It needs to be on the road being shown off :wink2:

Sorry Eisen that your head doesn't fit the helmet.:crying: I've had that experience but the helmet wasn't as expensive.
I wore my new Bell Bullitt Carbon Black Jack for the first time today, very comfy and sooo light.

So bummed that it didn't fit on the ride and that you're not keeping it. Especially for our resident helmet collector. How did you decide on that medium size without trying it on? Just by measuring or, based on your having the Hedonist in a medium? Did it seem to fit well when you first put it on before the ride?

I just tried it thanks to Rocky finding a shop that has a couple. They're not a big dealer like Revival in Austin, TX. but they had two Racers in various sizes. The saleswoman (and everything I've read online, Revival's review and including I think, Hedon itself) who knows her merch, confirmed that yes, they do run small (which is why I'm so surprised about your experience). It fit as I thought it should, tight to get on but, oh so comfortable when it was on. And I felt that it would really be quiet on the wind noise. Interestingly, I didn't see any pockets for comm equipment although on the Bobber I don't really need that since I mostly use it around town and shorter day rides. The fit was not unlike my Shoei RF1200 which is also a medium (and I had to exchange from a small after a few days because I could barely get it off my head without pain :surprise:) and pretty quiet but, no comparison on the looks, obviously. Been thinking about it since the try-on but, I really need to wrap my mind around an almost $900 (!) helmet when, in truth, I already have a perfectly good one in the Shoei (which recently replaced my Bell Bullitt). But, every time I'm in San SebastĂan and see those gorgeous helmets in that window, I'm keep telling my myself that it's a good thing they don't sell them in the States or I'd have to buy one. And now, lo and behold...**** :grin2:

Eisen, P.S. on that fit. I see that both the Hedonist and the Herione list a medium at 57-58 cm. which I'm sure you've seen on that chart they have on the Hedon website. So, even if you didn't have the Hedonist, i see you said your measurement is 55-56 cm. which they list as small. How did you figure on the medium in the Hedonist...because supposedly Hedons run small? Even without the box, I wonder if they'd exchange it (it's not like they don't have other boxes). I'm sure they could easily see it wasn't really worn at all. No more than multiple people trying it on. Oops, now I see you didn't buy directly but, from Designer Helmets. Considering how much you liked them, maybe they'd do the exchange. Either way, I'd be surprise if you can't find a buyer. Hope so.

I think I see part of the sizing problem. Some of those dealers aren't listing the size measurements the same as Hedon does. Designer Helmets has the same graphics as Hedon but, the measurements for the small and medium sizes are slightly different than what Hedon lists. Also, I see that Designer Helmets lists the Hedonist sizes (and some other models) but, not the Heroine (although on Hedon's website, they list both models as the same). Weird that the dealers are showing different measurements than Hedon does
Trying it on is the only option.

Jerrman, i agree that Hedon really need to sort out their sizing issue/chart.
The small in the Hedonist is TINY and not consistent with the Heroine.
I have a Hedonist in Dusty Grey (small) and like you with your Shoei, found that it was simply too tight and not loosening up - even after multiple rides. But i was so impressed with the quality i ordered a Matt black in Medium. Fantastic 3/4 helmet and always a pleasure to ride with it. Though aerodynamically speaking, the Davida V3 is better (albeit noisier).
So i based my decision of the Medium Heroine due to fact that the M Hedonist fits me so well.

After all this, a return ticket to the UK & a few hours in Urban Rider would have been the quickest and best solution :grin2:

I MAY pull the trigger on a size SMALL this weekend. And make sure the box is not thrown away in case i find my head really is not Heroine sized!! Worst case, i can get a refund.
I am alway open and honest in my reviews and i can say that with all the helmets i own, the Heroine really is an absolute gem. Stunning both to look at and to wear (a rare thing) with the best exterior shell shape i have seen.
I think that if you do end up buying one - you WILL NOT regret it.
Don´t forget that you will have to buy a smoke visor too >:)!

In Shoei, i wear a size small (both 3/4 and FF) but found that Schuberth are a better fit for me when riding long distance. I think the C4 is one of the best touring helmets i have ever owned. It is a massive improvement over the C3. Sorry to digress...

Based on my last post where I found that Designer Helmets were listing the Hedon measurements differently from the Hedon website (at least on the Hedonist since their chart doesn’t show the Heroine), maybe they’d consider exchanging it. If nothing else, their chart measurements should be the same as Hedon’s. If not, a London trip is always fun.

Hedon Heroine going to a new home and VERY happy to say it’s to a member of our great forum.
I wish him many, many happy miles with it and keeping my fingers crossed that it’s a perfect fit.
In turn, I have purchased a size small and will update this thread as to size and fit.

It’s been a real adventure with this helmet, but worth it for the quality & finish.

And guess who...:smile2::smile2::smile2:
She arrived today, after Eisen sent it yesterday(!) by DHL Express!! Thank you so much, once again mate, for this, really made my day:smile2: Sincerely hope that your new one in "S" fits like a glove.

My head size is 58cm, and as they say on the Hedon website, this is indeed their "M" size.
She fits perfectly when she's on my head, however getting her on and off is at the moment, a bit painful on my ears, but I'm sure it will loosen up after a while. I've got big ears; I was called all sorts of names as a kid; "Radar" "FA Cup" "Dumbo" etc.
I think that maybe this is the reason that some think that these helmets are wrongly sized; and maybe put off after trying one on. They are difficult to put on and take off, but I guess this is the price you pay for such an extremely small shell profile. I'll get used to it.
These helmets are indeed very luxurious, well worth the money in my opinion; and I was so lucky to get mine from a real Gent, and at a great price too!
When I visit Mallorca, the drinks are on me! :wink2:

Cheers mate!
mike
