Greetings!
I just bought a 2019 Bobber Black today -
I want to buy the V&H mufflers but I want to ask if anyone knows if the bike will need a fuel re-map?
is it safe to just install them and run with the stock fuel map.
Any info / experience and opinions would be appreciated!

Best Regards,
MotoPG

Need...absolutely necessary.....probably not.

However, triumph has a V&H map that the dealer can install. I can’t think of a single reason not to do that.

If you rode your bike home then you didn't do the 12 minute tune correctly.:surprise:

Sorry I wasn't clearer. I did the 12 minute tune several days later from a cold start. By the way, the 12-minute tune actually seemed to help.

Where are you. If you are UK or Europe I wouldn’t bother with the V&H unless you are doing it purely for look.
If in the US then the US spec are worth doing.
I speak from experience. I put the EU V&H on initially and was really disappointed. Very little sound difference from stock. Now have the US Spec.

The 12 minute tune needs a cold start, but timing the 12 minutes starts from when the fan cuts in ( so when it’s warm). Have I got that correct?

The throttle seems much smoother . . . especially at slower speeds in lower gears.

To be clear I went through the proper procedure -

  1. Start the bike from cold without twisting the throttle.
  2. Let the bike run until the fan comes on.
  3. Run the bike for 12 minutes after the fan comes on.

I don't know what a 12 minute tune is.....
can you let me know how to and where to find that procedure?

I don't think you get a remap if you are in the UK(EU) :D but you can have it if you live in the USA.

It seems to be down to those pesky politicians.

I had the USA spec ones without a remap here in UKland.

TWELVE MINUTE TUNE

The procedure is simple.
1. Start your bike without touching the throttle.
2. Wait till the bike reaches 190F, This is simple the fan will come on!
3. Continue idling for 12 more minutes!

This will force the Adaptive RE-learn cycle according to Triumph

Thats me being impatient and as a result probably achieved nothing as I couldn’t wait for the fan to come on so took it for a ride and did it then. I’ll start again....
