I have a Shoei J Cruise with comms for longer trips on the Bobber and an Aria XD4 with comms for the Tiger.

I’ve just treated myself to a Biltwell ****** S as a welcome home from Bobber Hospital for my favorite. Also goes pretty well with the Vespa.

Tried it out for the first time today on the Vespa and for what is a very simple helmet I really was very pleasantly surprised. Very light, fantastic vision, not to noisy and very comfortable.

I have 2 helmets,
The first is a good WCL, DOT approved beanie that I wear around town. My second helmet is a Shoei Modular I wear when it colder out, or if I'm on the highway for any distance, or when I'm riding with my Daughter so we have comms. As I'm blind as a bat without my glasses, I have a couple good pairs of goggles, first ones are a pair of Wiley X's with high impact resistant dark tinted polarized RX safety lenses, and a 2nd set of Bobber (Pistons I think? I don't remember now) with the same impact resistant lenses but with Transitions coatings for night or when its cloudy. I also have a good set of Molded DB Blocker ear plugs, for when I wear the beanie.

I like them both, but my preference goes to the beanie. Nothing like a bee or a pine beetle in the face at 50mph to remind you your alive! XD

Scorpion Belfast is my summer/brave helmet.

Nolan N87 is the sensible/cold choice. Comfortable, quiet enough and in plain black looks pretty good. Will probably stick with these going forward as I know they fit and are competitively priced.

One day I will get a Shoei J O in Rat Grey as absolutely love it but is just a bit pricey at the moment.

Tried a bit of customisation on my Scorpion EXO Belfast last night and added some hand cut Oralite lightning bolts. I was struggling to get it to reflect properly to demonstrate it to my wife and kids until I took a photo with flash and BOOM! there it is. I really like the interplay of the glass black vinyl on the matte black helmet and it'll certainly mean I get seen at night. It's supposedly got an outdoor life of 7 years and at £4 ($5) for an A4 sheet was excellent value.

I'm going to try and cut some vintage style racing numbers for the back of my lid but as that'll mean curves, it might not be quite as succesful - I'll either post the results, or not LOL.

XR2 NEXX Carbon Pure

I went with this helmet because it was super light at barely over 3 pounds or under 1.4 kilos. It was the lightest ECE + DOT approved helmet available at one point. I got a killer deal on it out of Portugal shortly after the Nexx factory fire occurred, ended up paying 255 after shipping with the Pinlock fog blocking visor insert included!! If you shop around sometimes you can find deals on them but they can go up pretty high on major sites. Wish I could have got the deal on a plain carbon but the yellow reflective accents are probably the only thing you see from the waste up when i have my black jacket on.

Highly suggest this helmet to anybody with a neck injury like me, this has helped tremendously with neck pain and fatigue at highway speeds or long rides. Vents heat pretty good and the Pinlock keeps fog non- existent even in Houston at 90% humidity and 90°. It's a plus you can swap out for a tinted insert easy.

Just remember to take the invisible protective film off the insert or like me you'll think that pinlock is a joke until you realize , DUH left the easily fog inducing scratch resistant factory film on.

I finally received the helmet that's replacing my damaged Joe Rocket Speedmaster carbon fiber helmet. I went with the Scorpion EXO-1400ST matte carbon fiber. It's just as light as the Joe Rocket, even though the Scorpion has a dropdown internal visor and an air pump in the chin that pumps up air bladders between the helmet shell and the cheek pads to give a nice snug fit that's also supposed to keep noise out. It came with a regular clear visor as well as a pinlock clear visor, so I'll be picking up a lightly tinted visor for everyday wearing, so the internal tinted visor will give the extra tint I need when the sun is especially bright outside. I'll probably remove the "S" logo on the top center of the helmet as well, to streamline the look. I really love the way the matte carbon fiber looks, so I'm a happy guy.

They look cool. What are they?
As Eisen said, Urban Helmets brand.

https://urbanhelmetsusa.com/

Almost ordered one last year.
But never pulled the trigger as they seem to come up quite round/large (not suited to my intermediate oval shaped head...)

I DO like some of their designs.
Looking forward to reading another review about them...
Yeah, thought I’d try them out, being the sale they had going.

The review....

Its DOT approved and like gfspencer said, its a big step up from the 'ornamental' skid lid I used to wear. There isn't a helmet law in NH but the wife would kill me and trying to set an example for the boys so I don't leave home without it
