Here's about all I could find photo wise of my previous bikes. Wish I had one of the Suzuki Bandit after all the mods I did to it as you wouldn't recognise it! It ended up getting a full carbon , twin headlight fairing. The cost of which approached what I paid for the bike itself !!! ? The bike I missed the most was the Scrambler but after a couple weeks of Bobber ownership that was soon forgotten. ?

Full circle....even if it did take 50 years!

My Triumph journey started in 1970, same year I was posted out to Nam, a 1962 Tiger 110


Other rides in between, Sporty's or derivations, raced for 20 odd years then in 1999 the Buell was added to my inventory which I still ride.

A 'return to the fold', walked into the dealer's with the intention of buying a Thruxton, my brother owns one. Rode out on a Bobber instead.....no regrets.>:)

And for those Harley marque specialists, yes I did say XLR-TT. There are at least three (3) here in Australia of the 120 manufactured. I bought mine in 1983 as basket case.

I wish our Bobbers had belt drive! 🙁
Freespirits do a conversion kit for the Bobber , a couple of the guys here have had it done and rave about it.

Here’s a couple from me... will try and find some old pics of my Z650’s and GPZ900 that I also owned a long time ago...

first up my 1992 ZZR1100... had a custom paint job and was around 145bhp with the loudest exhaust known to man...





I sold the ZZR for my first Triumph, a 1994 Tiger 900 which ended up being featured in Performance bike magazine readers special...
It made around 110 bhp running sprint cams, carbs and ECU... it had daytona forks and wheels so that I could use decent tyres...

This was my first ever bike. The picture isn't of mine but it was completely identical. It cost me £10.00 from my next door neighbour's eldest daughter who went off to University and it was ready to ride away at midnight on my sixteenth birthday in 1973. I was the first one to ride a motorised vehicle to school and boy did I feel cool. It was in the days when petrol was 2/6 a gallon and a shot of two stroke oil was an additional penny. For our international readers that is around 12.5p or £0.12. When you had filled it up you had to take it off the stand and vigoorously shake the whole bike to mix the oil and petrol otherwise the oil would sink to the bottom and clog up the carb.

You had to start it on the stand by peddling as fast as you can and, when it fired up, you would disappear in a cloud of 2 stroke white smoke. No gears, just a centrifugal clutch. I once did a run of over 100 miles with a broken rear axle and a split front tyre. The inner tube bulged out and rubbed on the inside of the fork leg so I let enough pressure out to stop it!

You could get around 40-45 mph out of it with the right conditions, which was downhill and a good breeze behind you. During the 100 mile run I went up Shap Fell but, half way up, I had to start peddling to assist it.

Having finished with school I found myself off to college and with a wife and baby realised I needed to commute. The wife and baby ensured that there were not enough funds for a car so it had to be a small, cheap and reliable motorcycle. Hence my next machine was purchased to get me from a bedsit in Manchester to college in Liverpool and back every day in 1975. This was around 35 to 40 miles each way and would take just less than an hour. A great way to learn all about riding a motorcycle in all weathers and conditions. The chosen bike was a Honda CB 125 and I probably did more miles on that bike than any other I've had since.

I do like the Honda Bobber, very tastefully done. I see there are some parts finished in a similar style on the Honda and the Triumph, i.e. the aged brass type of look, it suits both bikes well.

Where are the front indicators on the Triumph?

Thanks. I really like the bronze cerakote look and you can tell because I did use it quite a bit on both bikes.

The turn indicators are LED rings around the front forks. They are made my Rage 360

I do like the Honda Bobber, very tastefully done. I see there are some parts finished in a similar style on the Honda and the Triumph, i.e. the aged brass type of look, it suits both bikes well.

Where are the front indicators on the Triumph?
