After I bought my bike and got to know it better I noticed some small spots of rust at some minor scratches in the paint on the frame. I know from experience that when a car body gets some rust on it, even when you go for a rust repair they give it back to you and the rust is still expected to return in a number of years. It just makes me wonder how antique bikes have made it so long? I just don’t get how a bike could never get any scratches and never rust over decades of riding. I would like to keep this bike forever and I worry of the rust ruining that concept. Does anyone have any insight, are all bikes destined to rust away?
