I ride the Rev'it Marshall boots and more casual Stylemartin (coincidentally, also Marshall) riding shoes for around town. The Rev'it boots are probably more protective with pretty stiff leather and I use them for all long trips. They're finished in a very cool, brown/black almost mottled finish and look like they've been your favorite boots for a very long time. The Stylemartin (Italian) are still CE rated but, a softer, easier to wear leather. If you want a work boot style, check out John Doe. They're only available in Europe although you can get them shipped to the U.S. within 3-4 days from Urban Rider. I'm eyeing a pair Rambler boots in black (cream colored sole) as I clearly have to catch up with Eisen's collection. I've given up on the helmet race with him, though :)

Bates Freedom Boots. I've had lots of boots, but these are by far my favorite. They feel light on the feet, and unlike a lot of boots with clunky toe boxes, fit under the shift pet comfortably. While they have a dry liner material on the inside, they will get wet in a heavy rain. The upside is that they normally dry out overnight for the next morning's ride. I also wear them at work all day, which is business casual. You can't do that with many boots.

What attracted me to them is the fact ALL materials (for this boot) are sourced from US companies that make the materials in the US, and the boots are assembled in the US. The price point is very good too. I've had them over a year and they still look and feel perfect for me.

Bates Dry, not sure what sub species they are, but I like them.

They are suppose to be water proof, but I haven't tested that claim as of yet.

I will admit to being extremely lazy, when it comes to tying footwear. Most of my shoes and boots are tied once with a double knot, and used as slip-ons from then on. So the Zippers were a big selling point.

Only thing I had to do was put in a set of high arch insoles. The original ones were completely flat which made walking in them an unpleasant experience. But in all fairness, that wasn't what they were made for.

The Cat also seems to like them. Apparently they are great for stashing toys.

I have the women's version of these boots. Bought them back in 2013- they've been around the world a few times both on all-weather bike trips and photography hiking trips. They are chunky but I love 'em! I can vouch for waterproofness.... good in snow too. Only time they got wet inside was due to a rogue wave that exceeded the boot height when doing some seascape photography one morning. Unfortunately, the non-leather insert under the zip has started to delaminate, but they don't owe me anything at this point. Looking to replace with the same again.
And my puppy loves stealing the insoles out of mine :grin2:

My other riding boots are more pretty than practical... not waterproof and limited safety features other than being leather with non slip soles and have a HD emblem I'm afraid.

I have Furyan Caprino with Sympatex and D3O armour - CE rated, waterproof but a bas**rd to break in and I had issues with the soles peeling. I got some money back from the seller after returning them once for repair and it failing again. My cobbler took a look and upgraded them with a red Dainite sole and they are now badass (although still rub a bit on the ankle).

I also have some Triumph Stoke boots in tan which are comfy and probably my go-to boots although definitely not as substantial as the Furygan and I'm pretty sure I'd get soggy toes in heavy rain. However, I can wear them off the bike without feeling like I'm clumping around.

I also picked up some TCX X-Street boots that I'm wearing right now. I picked them up for £10 from Gumtree (similar to Craigslist) last Christmas and are great for my short commute and comfy for walking around in all day - I put some new laces in as the white ones were grubby and added some extra reflectivity at the same time.

Wow... I always assumed Gumtree was uniquely Australian: amazing the things you can learn on the forum :surprise:
