Hey all - thought I'd get a thread going as my bike begins her transformation from stock. I've had the bike for a couple of months now, and glad I got a chance to enjoy it before I started replacing bits. Some parts are arriving this week, and then I drop the bike off at the dealer end of Aug for a paint job, and total reworking of the rear fender.

What I have on order (and hopefully will be installing this weekend!):
OEM swing arm bag
OEM aux socket
BC slash cut drag pipes
New Rage Cycles 360 front indicators

What is being done in Aug
Raw round (i.e. no rib in the middle) cut rear fender
Bullet atto amber satin black indicators
RSD vertical side mount plate holder w/ tail light
Both fenders, tank, and side covers are being painted Porsche Nardo Grey

For reference, attaching a pic of the color in question. After all that is done, at some point I'll likely throw on the OEM heated grips and go aftermarket with the rear suspension.

I'll be posting pics as things progress. Cheers!

-Tom

Good on you Siggsy, best thing to do to a bobber black is stop it being black.:laugh:
Haha, it looks great now but def look forward to some contrast.

Thanks all, the new rages showed up today, exhaust supposedly tomorrow!

So wound up putting a couple hundred miles on her this weekend instead of doing a ton of installs, but did manage to get my exhaust on. I was worried it'd be too aggressive and loud, but you can def keep it in check if you don't open up the throttle. Idle def dropped an octave in tone, which I really like. Bonus I now have more room for my heels.

I'll get some better pics once I get the other bits on.

Looks great! Boy, the silver bits around the motor really stand out in this pic with so much black. It'll be interesting to see how things come together after your paint job.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm thinking that shouldn't stand out so much once I paint. After another convo with my dealer, looks like I'm nixing the rear fender after all. If it bothers me i can always add one later.

Great job so far.

Are you going to cover the fork tubes with sleeves/covers ?
For me (on my bike) those were an eyesore and I was so happy when freespirits came out with covers. I now use the Wunderkind with indicator kit.

I don't mind the silver forks at all. I'm putting on those rage 360's anyhow, so covers I'm guessing wouldn't work.

Unless you buy larger diameter rages...?

Or trim down the fork tube covers, so they sit on top of the Rages. IIRC you already bought the Rages, didn't you Siggs?

I really don't mind a little silver on the forks either, because there are little silver bits elsewhere too. I really dig eisen's Wunderkind front signals too.

Yeah, I don't need the bike to be blacked out completely. I like a little variance, and once it's painted it'll be less apparent. Yep, rage 360s are sitting in my garage waiting to be installed! Date for dropping her off is quickly approaching as well. :smile2:

Another couple of weeks till I get my bobber back. Makes me want to trade my FZ in for a better back up bike haha. This forum is the only thing keeping me sane, please keep posting more!

Also, decided last minute to buy a short front fender. Still need to install the rage 360s and swingarm bag. Stay tuned, will def be posting pics when I get her back!
