Motone has the X pipe Lite and X Pipe with Mounts.

Has anyone used the Xpipe Lite for the Bobber?

Yes, you definitely need those hard mounting points in the middle of the otherwise floppy, sag-prone and vibration-vulnerable exhaust system. The joints and clamps between the cat (or X-Pipe) and the headers and mufflers are designed to seal against gas leakage -- not to support weight or resist torque and vibration over time. If the axes of the round joints were all generally oriented fore & aft, as with an old-school 2-piece 4-into-1 header, it wouldn't be so bad. But on the Bobber all four circular X-Pipe connections have axes that go left-right. So the only means by which they can resist the tendency of the middle of the system to sag under its own weight as the bike bounces up and down is the friction of the clamps and seals. Again, they were not designed to resist torque and therefore should not be expected to hold up over time.

Even if you're not an engineer or technical person, ask yourself this -- what is the benefit of eliminating the hard attachments in the middle of the exhaust system? A few ounces less weight? Five minutes less assembly time? Don't be foolish, make the right choice and it will hold up over time without causing you all kinds of headaches. If the few ounces of weight savings seems important, just get a haircut and take a leak before you ride.
