I fitted a Meerkat crossflow pipe to my Speed Twin today, as I thought it would add low-mid range torque, seat of pants tells me it has, hope to bung it on a dyno sometime next week.
The meerkat is very well made, increased bore size on the 90 degree bends should maintain gas velocity better other xpipes, & in IMHO savenging effect will be improved.
Anyone thinking to decat they are not all equal, they should all improve things but some more so than others. look into it & choose wisely.
2-2 Straight pipes like I fitted to my Thrux R will also lose some low torque.

Thanks for sharing the info.
Where did you get the Meerkat?
Though I’m very pleased with my FreeSpirits, it’s great to learn about other high quality brands & where they are available.

Any pics ?

That’s one of the reasons I went with freespirits as they use the OEM mounting points so wear isn’t an issue (supposedly!)
But I know very little about that kind of stuff and it may just be a meaningless selling strategy to make them stand out from the the competition.
I’m sure TriRocket can tell you a lot more about whether the pipe is structurally sound to hold up to wear, weight and vibration. The guy knows his stuff and wouldn’t buy anything not up to the job.

Neat!

Only thing I might question is the mounting on the Bobber. Might not be an issue with BC drags or similar as they are pretty short and light, but I think my tridents would work at pulling the back side of the x-pipe down.
I agree completely with respect to the Bobber needing the X-Pipe with mounting points. I came very close to choosing the lighter Motone X-Pipe without any of its own mounting points but ended up going with the one that uses all the factory mounting points, hardware and shield. When I installed it loose, just to play around with it, and saw how loosey-goosey everything is I was very glad to have the mounts. Still saved a ton of weight too.
