Figured I’d start compiling my adventures with my new bike here.
Meet Max. She’s a 2022 Gold Line (duuh, as if there could be any other year Gold Lines 🧐). And she just got home for the first time after spending a few winter months in the dealership. Today the snow had cleared off the streets enough for me to ride her home.
There was only one person more excited about this than me - my mini-me:
Wheel Tire Fuel tank Automotive fuel system Vehicle

It was way too cold for me to fully grasp what the bike is all about, but those 40 minutes in city traffic showed me that she is all I’d hope for and then some.
There is just one expectation that was NOT met by a long shot - coming from an agile and agressive supermoto I was hoping she would be tame and chill to ride… alas that is not the case at all, she is as much a rebel and crazy fun as the supermoto. But the biggest difference is the sound! Where my Husky 701 sounded like a lawn-tractor even with an aftermarket slip-on, Bobber’s stock pipes sound like she means business!!
It’ll be a while until I can wipe that stupid grin off of my face… 😁

Incidentally, can someone recommend me some black tank pads that would fit in that white part of the tank perfectly? I got nice diamond-stitched ones but they didn’t follow the lines at all. It would’ve been fine had they been clearly bigger to hide the gold lines as well, but they were nowhere near..

Congrats on getting her home :)

You're bringing up your kid right, too. My parents HATED motorcycles due to the danger, but after they were gone I found a bunch of photos of tiny me on various 2-wheeled toys. I blame them LOL!

Nice… where did you get the union flag vent next to the header tank check cap?
Right now I’m getting all of my goodies from a place called ClassicBike Rasich in Germany, since they’ve got most all Motone stuff but unlike buying straight from Motone I don’t have to pay customs (Yay for EU!)
Not sure whose part it actually is..

Now when you say “vent” do you imply there should be some air moving through that part? 🤔

Well the stock part is a very fine mesh. I imagine rather than air moving through it’s more for heat escape from the header tank

Glad you hot it home and are now ready to ride. Try putting it in Rain Mode for city traffic, it will calm it down and make it easier.
That would be sensible option indeed, but I don’t want to compromise on the fun 😆 Luckily I have enough sense not to go too crazy. She’s a handful but in a good way!

I’m sure it’ll be fine. On the original part there is a piece of undrilled thin metal holding the mesh in place.
As I found out at least on my bike the mesh is actually tightly wrapped around that thin metal so I likely will need to revisit how it’s actually held in place.. But yeah, likely it is fine 👍
