New option, no experience with this company. Just figured i would put this out there!

Triumph Bonneville Bobber 17 - Matris Dampers!

While i actually love the rear suspension during operation at speed, anything under 40 mph on a ripply road gets old real fast! I DID buy a Bobber, so i won't complain much ;)
Thanks for sharing.
Their new front fork cartridge kit looks interesting (F15K)!

I have sent an email to Matris for more info (such as price, availability and set up) for the front fork cartridge kit.
Will update once they reply (which may take a while being Italians...!)

I found out about this Monoshock from BellaCorse, an aftermarket Triumph dealer just outside of Detroit, MI. He has it for $499, which seems like a better deal than the ONLY choice Triumph offers.

After doing some research and speaking with Matris, i have decided to order a complete Fork Kit (F15K) for my Bobber.
Matris seem to have a good reputation here in Spain and my mechanic said it would make a substantial difference to the Bobber´s comfort and handling.
This is the first i have ever used their products as i usually go straight for Traxxion Dynamics or Ohlins!

I will post my thoughts once installed.

Attached below is a price list of their products (not including 21% tax):

My Matris F15K Fork Kit arrived yesterday.
Great service from the Spanish dealer and from Matris Italy. They were quick to respond to all my questions and despite a small delay due to fork oil stock i had no issues dealing with them at all. I can´t wait to try them out!
Should be installed before the weekend...

Matris forks install almost done.
Just making some final adjustments to the cartridges.
Preload, compression and rebound all adjustable and set to recommended (default) positions for now. Will adjust once i get the bike on familiar roads so i can compare to stock & adjust as necessary.

Front upper fork covers also installed. They look great (in my opinion) and i´m happy to see as little chrome/polished metal as possible! The covers are very high quality - as i have come to exprect from FreeSpirits.

Nice!

I assume your clutch cable is now floating/not going through that little bracket?
The original location of the cable was not well thought out. It kept chafing with the brackets (like others have posted)
The cable has not been moved and no longer chafes on anything.

The new front shocks compliment the Fox rear shock perfectly.
I have now driven on roads i know very well and can confirm that the Matris front soaks up imperfections MUCH better and instills more confidence when going round sweeping corners. The front feels alot more planted and connected to the road. Better feedback too.
The OEMs are fine- but the front did not ´match´the rear. They felt a bit jittery and bouncy (maybe even a bit wooden) compared to the rear Fox which is really smooth and progressive.
Being able to control the preload is fantastic and the rebound is in another league compared to stock. Compression was not really an issue for me even on stock.

Simply put, a great bike now feels even better.

Thanks for all the info, the Matris / Fox upgrade has been pushed to the top of my remaining purchase list.

I've been selling the Matris Fork Cartridge Kits and their Bobber Mono Shock for some time now. They customer feedback has been all positive, glowing in fact.

The mono shock is a no-brainer. 2/3'rds the cost of the factory option and has much more going for it.

The fork cartridge kits are wildly popular with the T100/T120/Thruxton crowd and work equally as well on the Bobber.

As mentioned in post #4 (funnybunny), Matris fork cartridge kits, emulator kits and mono shocks are available in the US from a Triumph Bonneville-only specialist.

Unfortunately, due to restrictions placed upon me by this forum's ownership, I cannot mention the name of my shop as I am not a paid advertiser. Maybe someone else will chime-in with a link.

Something strange here; you placed a link in your signature, that actually functions as a link as long as I'm not logged in. After logging in it's not a link, just advertising.
Seems to me that you're trying to advertise here without paying your dues?
There are other vendors here who pay their bit to be part of all this, and advertise legally.

Why don't you just register as a vendor and pay your way?

Yes, however I'm trying to work that out with the Forum Moderator. This site's sister site: triumphrat has graciously agreed to allow me to post under my original nom de plume: RaceDweeb as long as I don't use my company name. I'm hoping this site will allow the change as well.

I have my reasons (well documented elsewhere) and accept the restrictions.

This in today from a satisfied Matris Mono Shock Owner:

"I installed the Matris mono shock on my Bobber Friday evening and just now got to take a test ride. The difference was immediately noticeable. Under acceleration there is no sag in the suspension as before. The ride is much more solid feeling is the best way I can describe it. The bike feels like it stays under you, and handles road conditions much better. The presetting of pre-load by Matris was very helpful, since I have never done this before. The fact that this shock is made specifically for the Bobber and my specific weight is also most helpful. I don't think I will need to go through the measuring of suspension movement to arrive at the best settings. Also, the installation was trouble free. You probably do still need a lift though, as it helped line up the connection for the shock swing arm side. This was money well spent, and as I told you the Triumph upgrade from Fox Suspensions for the same thing was $750.00 plus install if needed. You should really have confidence in advertising and selling this product. When my budget allows, I will get with you about a front forks upgrade. Thanks for being knowledgeable and honest in your help."

And thank you for your kind words.
