Hi everyone,

As I said in my intro, I have recently picked up a 2010 Bonneville Bobber, and now I do not ride it due to cool weather here in MD.

So, I've got some time to learn about my new ride and do something while the bike is sitting in the garage. By the way, I do not ride in winter not because I'm afraid or something, just do not want road salt and all those chemicals they use to kill metal on my ride haha
Anyways, maybe because of its age or because of something else, I am totally unhappy about how my stock headlight performs. That's why I decided to ask your folks opinion on what would you recommend doing. LEDs? HID? New OE light? Headlight restoration maybe?....

I appreciate any comments on what really works.

Cheers!

Am I the only one scratching their head in confusion ??

You mean you have a Bonneville converted to Bobber style?

Oh. Just saw your intro...

Welcome to the forum.

A bit more info and close up pics of your current setup would be handy.

LED lights are very powerful and illuminate well. But if cost is an issue you can try a LED bulb first (Pathfinder).

Would also suspect that the LED bucket fillers some are using may have different male/female connectors.

Reach out to A&J Cycles, or check out their website, to see if there is something for the 2010.

I can attest to he fact that, that particular LED lamp produces an extremely nice upgrade to the original lamp. Just how much of an upgrade i suppose could be summed up by saying 'Holy $hit!', try one at your own risk, due to the inherent disease we all suffer from (Upgradethebobbernow-itus) it can prove fatal to your bank account just thinking about a full on headlamp replacement.......

Hi there! I appreciate the warm welcome, folks.

I have posted smaller pics assuming large images will slow down the forum. I have uploaded a couple more and will share better pics using tiny pic.

A quick update, folks. I went ahead and ordered a round LED light by Bagger Brothers (hope I spelled the brand name right), will post up pics once the light comes.

This weekend I was reading a lot about LEDs on older bikes, and ended up ordering a load resistor. I haven't found any LED resistors made specifically for the Bonneville, so I ordered a generic 6-ohm set.

I've read that ceramic onesdo not heat up that much, so assumed that they will work better for me (or at least won't melt anything there).
I will keep you folks posted if you are curious how the LED conversion works...
