Hi people,

1st, intro,... Dutch, living in Germany, driving bike since .... don’t know, last 25-30 years?

Ok getting serious now,

AFTER thinking, grumbling dreaming and whatever i finally Made The choice of between Thruxton and Bobber, both bikes I cannot really use as taking luggage with me is kind of £[{{76\<{]! On these 2. (Got an tiger 800 XRX for that) So I ordered a bobber black which will be delivered somewhere in March.
Being kind of lazy I will add an oil system taking care of the chain, for that, AND for attaching a navigation system I will need a 12v current on ignition. I normally would “take” it from one of the headlamp cables but..... that’s a) Led and b) connected on the bus system... so anyone got an idea where to connect?

Hello Leon and welcome to the forum I suggest your best port of call would be to pre order the Haynes manual from Amazon , and you can down load the full garage manual from the Triumph Tec web site but note you will need to pay £36.50 and you will need to pay for the day download as it takes a good few hours to down load . well that's what I have heard , not done it myself but that's the best I can suggest , there might be a lead you can tap into near the seat who knows , but what ever you do Be safe and enjoy ,

Welcome to the forum! I live in Germany, too. Nice place to ride a Bobber. Regarding your question on the 12V for a navigation device: I attached a TomTom Rider 450 to my Bobber. It comes with a relatively long wire with a fuse included that I ran along the left side of the bike´s body and connected it directly to the battery. Took me about 30 minutes. It helps to remove the two screws that hold the tank and then just lift the whole thing a bit. There are numerous wires running along the left side of the bike, so just add yours. It´s no big deal really.

Thanks 4taking me in people.

The Haynes book, might not be such a bad idea, but, but, but... that would be the first time I need a Haynes book for my motorbike (have to admit bought a book like that already twice but its is not that easy to find data on a Jensen-Healey of Saab 96,....at least its an excuse isn’t it?)
In fact hoped to get a hint where to get “attached” in this forum, but I’m quite sure I’ll find what I need somewhere :) If I’ll find the answer somewhere else I’ll just post it in this forum (somewhere in the “tech” area probably)

@bassbar, no problem, i ll understand, the standard problem if you write faster then you read :). Direct on battery wIl be an option anyway if I don’t find an answer before I need it. @Germany indeed is nice to drive motorbike.

No, the aux power socket stays on when the ignition is off. It´s connected directly to the battery. I got it installed on mine. See on page 4 top right side:

The auxiliary power socket provides a continuous 12 Volt power supply regardless of the ignition being switched on or off. Use of the auxiliary socket with the ignition switched off will drain the motorcycle battery.
