Hey all! First off, i have a 2020 speedmaster. I'm 5'7" so im kinda stuck right in the middle as far as comfortable length of reach goes. Another few inches of reach would be perfect for letting me extend my legs. The Kuryakyn "swing wing pegs" seemed like the perfect end all be all solution for this, however they don't fit the spline adapters for the speedmaster for some reason. The spline adapters for the 2018 speedmaster fit, just had to mount them upside down. But the pegs wont fully engage with the adapters causing them to spin around. Ive also looked at the ELLASPEDE forward control extensions but those look way too far forward for me. Unless they are adjustable but i don't see anything on their website indicating so. Currently i have a corbin seat and the triumph highbars. My bike is almost ready for a cross country trip if i could only find a peg that will give me a few more inches forward to extend my legs. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

There was a thread on here where a Speedmaster owner had spaced out the bar that the pegs are mounted on.. looked like a neat idea, but I can’t find the thread.☹
I've already done that! I got the british customs drag pipes. Full system not the slip ons. The curve is a bit more extreme than the stock headers so i had to add a lil more than half inch spacers to the bar. Not sure about an extra couple inches though.

Have you considered a slightly more sophisticated option using a couple of 100mm lengths of 25mm x 25mm square section aluminium bar? Make up two spacers by drilling them along the centre line at:

0mm - bored to 8.5mm and countersunk
25mm - tapped to M8 x 1.25
45mm - bored to 8.5mm and countersunk
70mm - tapped to M8 x 1.25

This would move the mounting bracket out by 25mm and up by 25mm which should move the footrests forward by about 30mm without sacrificing any valuable ground clearance. You would obviously need to make up longer linkage rods but it's an easy (and cheap) enough engineering job.

I haven't even tried this version yet but I will in the near future. Your way may work too but the way @tobyg used is simple and you only need a few cheap parts to do it. I will try this first then if I want them farther out may go with what you mentioned.

The problem I have with the simple option is that moving the mounting bracket 15mm forward / down at about 45 degrees will reduce ground clearance by 10mm. It's not exactly generous to start with!

5' 6". I can only say that I installed the Triumph Floorboards on my 2022 Speedmaster after riding with just the Corbin seat mod for a few months. The Corbin was a huge improvement for comfort, but the floorboard upgrade was even better for me. So much more relaxed, less vibration, and long touring rides seem to go faster for me - I didn't tire as quickly. I was hesitant at first to swap out the pegs, but the upgrade was definitely worth it.

I’m considering get the floor boards for my Bobber, have you noticed any problem with operating the kick stand? I’ve heard of people have difficulty with getting the stand up. I have the forward controls with the pegs now, I’d like to have more foot position options.

I added the floorboards to mine the day after I picked up my Speedmaster from the dealership. I just couldn't get comfortable with the standard forward pegs. The floorboards, although not cheap, offer much more comfort as you can move your feet around quite a bit even riding at their rearmost extreme on the balls of your feet (which is almost like having mid control placement pegs) for a few minutes if needed.
The Triumph kit is comprehensive, fairly easy to fit and you end up with a new gear change enabling heal and toe shifting which is superb.

Do you have any problem getting to the kick stand when it’s down?

No the arm isn't wider than the running board but from day 1 this simply isn't an issue.
With your feet on the ground and the bike upright a sweep with your left foot puts the stand up.
Your foor / leg doesn't foul on the running board.
Besides, I'd suggest the "arm" is used more to put the stand down from its lifted position tucked under the exhaust.

I ordered the running board kit last Saturday, won’t be here in the states until June. I’m 5’-3” so I don’t have much sweep of the leg, however I’ve been adapting to a tall world for 68 years now! Thanks for your help my friend.
