First Service $$$, Crash Bar, and Black Clutch Badge

Thought some might want to know how these look on a Black Bobber,
Just went for my first service (ouch-why do they charge so much for just an oil change!!! Motorcycle dealers are gougers!) anyways, I did a couple of mods :grin2:, just starting... many more to go >:), like get some decent seats and fox shocks...

Crash Bar isn't black, imo it looks better, that's just me...
Black clutch badge looks, imo, absolutely much better than the stock...

First oil & Filter Change

Hi Guys,

I just did my first oil & filter change @720klm on my new bobber black, I used penrite 10W-40 Full Synthetic $55.00 it took about 3.9 ltr, strange considering a certain website states 4.5ltr?

Race Performance Motorcycle Oil Filter - RP204 $19.49

Toledo Oil Filter Cup Wrench 65 & 67mm 14 Flutes - 305056 $18.99 had to buy one of these to get the triumph/castrol oil filter off.

Easy to do for those that have never tried before, just remember when tightening your drain plug 25NM and oil filter 10NM and don't overfill your oil...

Helps if you have a bike lift as well :)

This is straight out of certain website? albeit it's for the 2017 model bobber, I could not find the oil capacity in the manual provided with the bike.
So I stuck with the old method of keeping an eye on the filler glass window making sure I did not overfill.

Triumph Bonneville Bobber 2017
2017 Triumph Bonneville Bobber specifications, pictures, reviews and rating

Physical measures and capacities
Weight incl. oil, gas, etc: 228.0 kg (502.7 pounds)
Seat height: 690 mm (27.2 inches) If adjustable, lowest setting.
Overall height: 1,025 mm (40.4 inches)
Overall width: 800 mm (31.5 inches)
Wheelbase: 1,510 mm (59.4 inches)
Fuel capacity: 10.60 litres (2.80 gallons)
Oil capacity: 4.50 litres (0.30 quarts)

OMG I just found it in the service manual you are correct :)

The oil is sitting at the top of the dedicated mark on the edge of the window so I have put in the right amount, I didn't measure how much I had left in the bottle.

Which manual have you got? this stuff is from the US manual for some reason.
Is it for the black? does it have a bigger tank?

Tank Capacity
Type AKI octane rating (R+M)/2 of 87 unleaded
Tank Capacity 2.40 US gallons (9.1 liters)

If the black has a bigger tank, a few of us may need to look at that.

Unless your information is the internal area size, so including the bits that the fuel cannot reach, or the oil for example will pour out of the filler, but it will take 4.5 ltrs, but this would be over full and the space of air above it would be considered.
Interesting.

So I measured the the leftover oil in the container 300ml, So essentially I have put in 3.7ltr and the oil is sitting at the top of the level mark in glass window.
You are right that 4.5 was from a USA website, my manual states 3.8 dry and 3.4 for oil & filter and mine is a bobber black.
