Hi all - long time casual motorcycle rider here, grew up on dirt bikes. I've owned a few different styles of bike but I'm looking for something a little different, a little more relaxed. Most of what I've owned has been Japanese bikes, Suzuki GS850G, various dual sports and dirt bikes, etc etc.

So this would be my first triumph but a used dealer nearby has one in really good shape that has caught my eye. It's a sharp looking mid side cruiser which is exactly what I'm looking for. It's a 2013 with about 10k miles on it. Looks well taken care of and it's been serviced and passed state inspection.

My main question at this point is - how cramped will I be on this thing. I'm 6'4" with a 34" inseam. I've seen some posts that people over 6' are perfectly comfortable, but I've seen some saying it's cramped. I also noted that apparently there was a redesign of some sort sometime after 2016? And those newer ones are in fact smaller.

Anyway - if anyone has any info, opinions, or suggestions I'd love to hear them. I'm not able to get down to check out the bike til next weekend, it's about an hour and a half drive. I'm on the fence about even spending money on another bike.

Thanks!

The updated Speedmaster is a 1200cc 76bhp bike, rather than an 865cc 60bhp... I own a modern one, and it's a wonderful handling bike (like the Bobber). I had to migrate to a "feet forwards" riding position due to a knee op 6 years ago, and the bike is wonderful

The new Speedmaster came out in 2018 the one you are looking at is the old version. You would be fine on the 2018+ speedmasters or Bobber but I don't know anything about the old Speedmasters.

It more than likely needs new tires even with low miles, it's the years that need to be looked at
I don't believe it has the original tires on it, I'll have a look if I decide to go check it out.

Going by the pictures they appear to be Dunlops, and the manual says the bike came with Metzelers. I dunno how accurate that is but I'll be sure to check em out anyway.

Interesting, I had seen somewhere that the newer ones were more cramped than the older so if that's true I'm probably ok at least enough to consider going to sit on it, maybe test ride it (still salt on the roads here unfortunetly) Nice thing is it comes with a 90 day 3000 mile warranty.

Just wanted to add to this. I am 6ft 1 and the 2018 Speedmaster is a good fit. Seat could be a little more comfortable but that could be replaced. The forward controls are not really forward enough but they are okay for me, I just would like them 2-3 inches further out because I have bad knees.

Thanks, that's good to know. My GS850 wasn't exactly built for tall guys either and I was fine on that. Sounds like if they still have it at the end of the week I'll be going to look at it.
