Greeting Lads & Lasses,

So this morning I was having a cup of tea outside and admiring my new Bobber (photo A). I was thinking to myself that it's just spectacularly beautiful. This is one of the prettiest bikes I have ever seen and certainly owned (and I've owned some crackers). That's not so say I don't have plans to 'tweak' it here and there but as a basic platform the designers really nailed it.

I couldn't help but reminisce about the original Bonnie I owned back in the mid 1980's, a 1979 750 Bonneville Special with just a little customizing (photos B & C).

Of course the two don't really compare but I dug out a couple of photographs for a fun show and tell and thought this might make a nice lighthearted post. So if any other members out there owned one of the original Bonnies and would like to share some photos of their current Bobber along with their original Bonnie, then I for one would like to see them.

Cheerio,

Roy

As we would have said back in those days . . . . "That's so cool." :smile2:

I had a '67 Bonneville from new, a real leaker. they've come a long way No pics, Kodachrome was too expensive and the cameras too big to carry around.

Thanks for that @camperman160,

Some really terrific photos there mate, lovely bikes too, well done.

It was nice revisiting this thread and reading my comments from when I first bought Charlotte. Funny I was at a Harley store re-branding yesterday, a large event (sorry forgot to take pics). A number or Harley riders were asking questions about my Bobber and one asked me what I liked so much about it, I had to be honest and say "I'm very visual and it's just the prettiest bike I've ever seen"...:grin2:

A recent photo from camping a couple of weeks back.

Lovely to see these older Triumphs though.

Cheerio,

Roy
