Back pain and fighting the engineers

I'm loving my Bobber but wasn't loving the stock suspention. I installed the Wilburs and a Corbin Saddle. At the same time I fitted T120 bars to bring me back that extra inch.
I'm 5'10" and weigh 190, 32" inseam.

I couldn't figure out why my back was still bothering me. I softened the setting on the Wilburs and still no improvement. I then installed the Motone Up and Over Risers to bring me back yet another inch. This literally made the bike unrideable. My lower back killed and I felt every darn imperfection in the road.
Then it hit me in my waking hours. The issue was that you're meant to have that slight lean forward given the angle the rear shock is in.
I went ahead and brought my bars back to stock.
It fixed it for me and I'm thankful becasue I was like thinking I might not be able to keep her.

I do recognize we are all different shapes and sizes and tolerate things differntly and all that.
BUT I thought it was worth sharing this if there's anyone with this issue.

Sounds like you found the best riding position. When you say "soften" the shock were you backing off your preload? That usually results in bottoming if too much sag is created. You would know that by the number of spinal jolts you experience going over moderate road imperfections like train tracks and dips. You might want to revisit your static sag to get it fully dialed in.

Yes correct. It's riding well and not bottoming out. THe otehr part of the story is I dropped some weight and the preload needed some backing off.

Gotcha. Sounds like she's dialed in nicely, miles of smiles ahead.
