Gear ratio went from 2.18 to 2.44 so I’m seeing an 11% bump in torque (at a cost of 11% top speed which I’ll never miss). This all translates into less lurching at low speed. I’m also seeing more bottom end response.

You could achieve the same ratio by just changing the rear to a bigger sprocket like a 41T.

I see you replaced the plastic cap on your chain adjuster with an acorn cap. Do you remember what size it was?

I'm afraid not, Kilyung, I bought a box of assorted sizes on Amazon or Ebay and replaced as many as possible!

I tried running a 42 rear, ratio was good but chain adjusters did not work, had to do some fudging, wheelbase was shortened, not recommended.
16 & 39 does it for me.

Top speed is limited so you will NOT lose any max speed, I have hit the limiter many times, if you are really 'going for it' 5th is not good for much & 6th gear is just overdrive.

I was about to do this as well. Can you post close ups of how this turned out? Did you use gloss or satin/matte wrap?
