Detroit Shakedown

My first Triumph was a 70ish Bonneville with a blown cylinder.

It was a hand-me-down from my older brother, who joined the Merchant Marines and toiled in noisy engine rooms of huge Great Lakes freighters carrying iron ore and gypsum from Duluth to Detroit and Cleveland.

The Bonny never topped 25 mph, but at 14 I didn't care, and went all over town. I also nicked his VW Carmen Ghia whenever I could get away with it.

I've been through 5 Harleys, and returned to my roots.

Anyway, try to ay nice things about Detroit, and bring extra ammo for shopping along 8 Mile Rd.
