De-cat - what's the big deal?

What's the advantage of going down the de-cat route and fitting an X-pipe (or similar)?
There does seem to be a lot of interest in this.
Is the weight saving, and a freer flowing exhaust worth the investment?
What are the gains?
My Bobber runs just fine as the factory set it up, and I remain to be convinced of changing it, so I guess I am just curious!

Weight saving yes a little
Power increase yes some
Sound yes much fuller
If these are all plus for you then it is worth it.
If not leave it on & save the planet, someone has too.

Well that's a good way to put it.

Remaining convinced to change it though is a natural thing, we call that the "mod-bug" and once it bites, it bites harder and harder every time after that so tread carefully

There is a few pound weight saving but since it is as low as possible it is not a factor. The bike will be slightly louder and deeper and have some performance benefit and a little less heat!

Definitely not like the sport bike guys that install an aftermarket exhaust system that literally weighs half of what the oem does haha.

But seriously... literally half. It's crazy haha
