Photo Question?

Hi Gents,

I always add a photo via the drag and drop box below (see screen shot) which places it below and one has to click on it to open it up.

But I notice some of you chaps have images included in the text. Can some kind member tell me how you do that?

Cheerio,

Roy

You have to have your pics hosted through a different site, Roy. Then you're able to imbed them, so they're big without having to click. @eisen77 uses a specific site, but I can't remember the name off the top of my head.

I use SMUGMUG but hosting pics, videos, etc costs $48 every year (for basic membership, which is what i use)
You can try it out for 14 days without the need to pay or use a credit card.

I am not aware of any free hosing sites, but i am sure there are some around. Perhaps other members can recommend one ?

@Roy , if you just want to post some random photos here and there, send me a PM or email and i will host & embed the photos for you within your post.
But if you plan on inserting alot of photos, then yes - i highly recommend Smugmug.

Thank you for that and good to know.

I will stick with posting them the normal way. I was just wondering why mine looked different.

Very kind offer though and nice to know the options.

Cheerio,

Roy

I use Tinypic.com. You don't have to register and you can resize as you upload.

Alternatively, you can drag and drop, as you have done. Then, once you've posted, you can click on the picture, get it's properties and edit it into your post using the [img] tags.

I use Imgur for hosting the pictures I upload to the site. It even adds the img tags for me so I just copy and paste a line of text and the image appears as if by magic :-)

I use Photobucket. They suck. They used to be free but when they got a new owner he made a money grab and started charging people out the wazoo to host pictures. (Sort'a the pharma bro of the picture hosting world.) He has since rolled back prices a little. When my subscription runs out I will go to Flickr or something like that.
