Phoenix Arizona Triumph

Hi Chaps,

We had to make an unexpected trip to Prescott Arizona to help out the mother in law. So while here and because my Bobber has been snowed in for three months, my thoughtful wife suggested we take a drive down to Phoenix (a couple of hours south) and visit the Triumph dealership. Of course this also included a slap up fish & chip lunch at the Codfather, which is the 'only' place I have found in the US that sells fish & chips that is actually correct and pretty close to what I grew up on in good old Blighty.

So back to the dealership. Phoenix Triumph is a modest place but with a great selection of bikes. It was wonderful looking over all the models and certainly gave me a 'fix' from these months of not riding. The staff were very friendly and I was told that although there are other Triumph dealers this is the only dedicated dealership in the area. It was also pointed out to me that they have only been open for five months.

All in all a pleasant experience and although not local to me, I wish them well and hope that if you are in the area or traveling through, you pop in and support them.

As a side note, I found it fascinating to get my wife's views as she is not especially into bikes and has little experience of such dealerships. This was especially interesting as not half a mile away was a huge Harley dealership which we also popped in to. I have owned a number of Harley's in the past, so this is not a dig as I'm a fan. However my wife pointed out that as a contrast no sales person approached us at the Triumph dealers, in fact we had to go to them, whereas at the Harley dealers we were approached by no less that 'five' separate sales staff over the course of our visit.

I could (but I won't) critique this 'hard sell' but it was interesting to hear my wife's observations and the comment she made was how 'classy' the Triumph dealership was.

Never the less it was a grand day out and hopefully the next time I visit I will on my own bike. And yes, I will still swing into the HD dealer, always happy to fly the 'Triumph' flag and who doesn't like perusing shinny new bike whatever mark they are.

Not forgetting I got my fish & chip lunch too so I was well stuffed with my favorite; fish, chips mushy peas and battered mushrooms - highly recommend this place.

Finally, I'm always in support of any new dealership especially one that is a dedicated Triumph only dealership. Where I'm currently living I don't have one locally, so 'good luck' to Phoenix Triumph.

Cheerio,

Roy

Every dealership is different in their approach to a new "client". I prefer a dealership that leaves me to explore on my own. If I find something interesting I will find a salesperson.

I was looking at new cars several months ago. I went to one dealership and the sales team was hovering around the door to the showroom. Before I could turn my car off and get out a salesperson latched on to me. It was a little intimidating.

I forgot to mention....

My wife was perusing the shiny new Triumphs and here favorite was the T100. Mind you I think her only criteria was the back seat...

I'm thinking of retiring to the Phoenix area and The Codfather sounds like a good reason...

In my 14 years here in the US I have been coast to coast and traveled extensively. I can't tell you how many times I have seen the sign "authentic British fish & chips" (often at an 'Irish' pub) only to find out they are not even close. The Codfather in Phoenix is just about spot on, definitely the real deal. A great non pretentious place with a good menu and even a little Brit store. A real taste of home
