I picked up a new '18 Bobber from my local dealer on April 11, 2019 - traded in my '09 BMW F800ST for a more laid-back style of ride. The Bobber is kind of a retirement gift to myself. We recently bought a customized (bobbed) Royal Enfield Bullet 500 for my wife to ride (photo attached), so now we have two bobbers in the garage
I am still in the run-in period with the Bobber, so I can't wait to get that first service done (I'm growing tired of short-shifting, varying the throttle, changing gears a lot).
I have owned many different styles of motorcycles over the decades, including a 1980-something Suzuki 350GSL, Honda Shadow 750, Honda VTX 1300, Honda Gold Wing (very used), Harley-Davidson Sportster Ironhead 1000 (a project bike), Royal Enfield Bullet C5, BMW R1100RT, BMW F800ST and now the Triumph Bobber.
I am really enjoying riding the Bobber! So far, it seems very well put together, and confidence-inspiring stable ride with plenty of go-fast when needed. If only I could squeeze one more US Gallon of fuel into the tank...
I just purchased the Dart Classic Flyscreen, which I hope might help a bit on the highway at speeds over 65 MPH.
Photo attached - the leather despatch bag on the side is from my previous Royal Enfield Bullet, and is a make-do until I get my LaRosa left-side bag.
I'm happy that the forum exists, and I look forward to participating. Thanks!
