CornBobber!

Hey Bobber Forum! After two months of window shopping I finally took the plunge. Today I brought home a 2018 BB with a standard competition green/silver tank and clips ons (which I may already be regretting). I've been riding motorcycles for about 20 years and about 6 years ago took a hiatus but I got the itch again and shortly after, I saw the Bobber and fell in lust. This is my first non-Japanese/sport bike (hence the clip ons) and first twin. I live in the midwest US with my wife and 2 yr old daughter who's new favorite words happen to be "Bobber Black".
Side note: I purchased my BB without a test ride and I have to say that when I finally rode it today I realized that I'd completely underestimated the power. I've been on Triumphs before but they were NOT this torquey. Having been off a bike for the last 6 years didn't help but I was **** near positive I'd be changing my underwear sooner than I thought.

Welcome to the site. Great looking bike! How'd you manage to get a BB with a competition green tank? Love the look. Any other changes planned?

Each one matters.

Super look to that bike. Green and silver? I thought it only came in black, hence the name. And, yes, it is torquey. Welcome and congrats.

Welcome to the forum.
Did you paint or exchange the tank ? It looks great.
Your daughter has an excellent choice of favorite words

Enjoy your new bike.

Thank you! It's actually a stock 2017 tank. I loved the comp. green tank on the standard bobber and I asked the dealer (Baxter Cycles in Marne,Iowa - which is the best experience I've ever had and will recommend them to anyone interested in a Triumph!!!) if they could paint the tank and they recommended a straight tank swap. I plan to switch out the fenders and relocate the license plate. My daughter is all about motorcycles at the moment.

I think the clip ons look amazing on the Bobber. Do you find them uncomfortable?
Thats one mod i may do in the future as the clip ons just look so **** good.

I came to the Bobber via several sport or sport touring bikes, but the stock bars worked ok for me. The clip ons look ok, but I think Triumph need to offer some rear sets to go with them. I would happily fit rear sets with the stock bars, so long as they sit a bit higher. The bikes drags its undercarriage way too early for my liking. Good choice of tank colour by the way!

In hindsight the clip ons weren't the most practical decision and they'd honestly be a ton more comfortable if I had rear sets. I'm definitely sacrificing comfort for looks IMO but realistically I'm a homebody that doesn't travel much further than 20 miles from home on a regular basis. As for the helmet, I loved the look of the Bullitt's and found that flake silver on accident. I'm still new to the forum here and haven't figured out how to reply to each post individually so I apologize.
