I've had my Bobber for over a year now and I can honestly say I've never given the black plastic plugs on the handlebars a second thought...that was until I watched this video.:surprise:
Who knew they made black metal mirror delete plugs? Who knew I'd want them? When will this modding end? I guess the trick is to keep on modding, as once it's finished and there's nothing left to change the only option then is to buy another bike! >
Yes, I realized this when I wanted to change out my mirrors from the stock bar-end type. But if you want to keep the stock location this is a nice idea.
To me the plastic plug will avoid water intrusion and possible corrosion, where the “beautiful CNC machined aluminum” creates a void for dirt and moisture to collect and lead to corrosion. JMHO. No judgement, have a good day!
I love the look of these, but I've been mulling over the idea of swapping my mirrors. If I decide to stay with the stock mirrors, then I'd consider these just to be unique.
When I ordered my mirrors, which are a SM option, the first thing I noted was that these are not threaded. No doubt a cost saving idea when fitted to the Bobber. Still it worked out as the mirrors just needed a nice hex bolt and it was sorted.
I’m in the same camp as... I had never noticed. To my eye the existing caps don’t offend me, yet the Motone solution is so cheap I find myself considering them!
Has anyone spotted Motone’s new black Union Jack gear and acg covers? Liking them a great deal! They also do a black and polished variant too... only trouble is I can’t decide which I like more for the BB?!
