I've been in touch with Motone via facebook and they originally said they expect something by February.
Tried to get an update a couple of times last month but it seems to have gone all quiet?
I want to retain the original mudguard so a plug and play replacement for the OEM is what i'm after.
I'll try and get a reply from them this week.
It’s in the works, not firm ETA, if i get any pics of a closer prototype will post on here. On a side note, I am sending a fender to analog motor goods to prototype a fender mount tail light and turn signal combo. If you have seen their setup for the other models, it is really clean.
I got sick of waiting too. So I just made one fit.
The reason I’m guessing that there most likely isn’t a plug and play version yet, is the ridge in the center of the fender makes it hard to sit flush against the fender. If you cut that piece off, which will be hidden if you re attach the stock light, a lot more options will fit.
I’m waiting for this or that new light that made with the shark fin type thing. Depends which comes first and how the kit looks. Don’t really need blinkers and such.
If I die of old age before this product finally gets released, please do me a favor and mount one on the feet-end of my casket (if caskets are still in use).
Motone is done designing and has started making molds now for their tail tidy. They didnt tell me when it will be ready for sale, but it is still coming.
Nothing like prematurely teasing your customers for the better part of a year before you even order hard tooling. When it finally hits the market in 2020 or 2021, let's hope Motone didn't botch the job like they did with all those Monza Gas Caps that wouldn't even screw together.
Inn that case I will cobble together my own set up unless anyone has an alternative? I expect this subject has been done to death on here so a little browse won't go amiss.....cheeers
You can easily do some light fender trimming and make the British customs pan tail light from a street twin fit, and it looks way better than the motone.
