Hey there,

Looks like Wunderkind invested a bit of time into some new parts. Just received a newsletter that they are going to release a 18l Tank and the speedometer integrated headlight (looks like the Twinton Headlight). The are going to show these parts this weekend in Germany at the Custombike Show 2019.

They should release more data tomorrow, since the show starts tomorrow. In the german forum someone wrote that it will cost 1700€, but this might not be the correct information. If you follow the link you’ll find a picture of the tank... well not really a good one :) It is 18l or 4.755 Gallons so double the original. Hope to find more info tomorrow or over the weekend.

Very nice! Thanks for the link! Looks interesting. I should go there and have a look myself.

Plastic doesn't make it a cheaper material. As stated above, the lettering looks like it's molded with the bucket. To make the part in injection molded "plastic" requires expensive tooling especially having the high gloss exterior. A non ferrous material makes the part not rust prone as steel would be. Just look at some older bikes that look like rust buckets (pun intended):smile2:

I’m a Ex Journeyman tool and die maker. I prefer metal over plastic.

Thanks for the links, finally we get to see the tank. But 1700 Euros? Seriously? I think that´s a hard pass for me then. By the way: looking at the pictures of this monstrosity mounted on the Bobber makes my decision to skip that one even easier. Maybe in black it would look a little more unobtrusive. But no hate there, I get it. To each their own. I just feel like this is the opposite of what a Bobber is about.

It's always nice to see new options but as has been mentioned, the prices are a little off putting.

The tank is a nice option but the size (and price) may be a bridge to far for me.

As for the speedo/light, I really like it, just not sure if I like it quite enough to spend the money. That said, I'm looking forward to seeing who jumps on these options and how they look.

Cheerio,

Roy

Absolutely love the headlight, too. But, the price seems way out of line. Not to mention, according to Wunderkind, if you have an original Bobber, you’ll need the special clamps to the forks as the OEMs won’t work. If I’m figuring it right, that would take it to about $900 all in. Whew! It does look great, though.

I mean relatively expensive but very limited options. Hermy's has 0 options for 2018 Speedmaster tanks, and it looks like they've taken the option to buy Bobbers and T120's off their site as well. BikerBandit has 2016+ T120 start at 1399.99USD, with nothing available for Speedmasters or Bobbers. This is the same issue with finding paint codes outside of black for the bikes as well. The only options you have are for touch up paints. Their codes are dead ends even coming from their paint provider of choice. Triumph has been making their market smaller and more proprietary with little to no option outside of licensed shop purchases it seems like.

So really your options are at this point
A.) Wait to find a second hand Speedo/T120 tank and mod it
B.) Buy Wunderkinds 400 markup value tank, which comes .8L(im actually not sure) more than Speedo.

C.) Make your own
