I recently purchased the Cardo Packtalk Slim, only to find out that it cannot be fitted (without internal carnage) to my favourite Hedon helmet...gutted.
Anyway, Cycle Gear were awesome and took it back even after I'd had it for a month, so +1000 user points to those guys.
I wasn't sure what to do next, so I did a bit of research on Wireless headsets and decided to take a different route, with a focus on audio first, everything next.
My search brought me to the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earbuds
. I picked them up this weekend and had a little time riding with them in, I've also set my phone to auto-answer after 3 seconds and send it to the bluetooth headset (I'll update you after my first call in the ride).
WWoooah, the audio is amazing, really crisp and clear in all the ranges.
My first ride to work with them this morning was great.
+ Amazing audio quality
+ 3hrs 45mins play time
+ Holder box is a charger with x3 charges in it
+ Good for workouts and long travel when NOT on the bike
+ Work as ear plugs, so reduces wind noise
+ Transparent mode allows some audio in for awareness
+ Has a mic built in (haven't used it during a ride, yet)
- No external helmet controls (set to auto answer as a back up)
- Initial ear soreness, but that has gone away now
- Doesn't completely blockout wind at top speeds
I'll add more as I get more time with them.
