900 miles or so on my statement seat -- coming up!
Getting ready (leaving on Saturday) for a five day trip on the Bobber, on my statement seat! Wish me luck...
I have been riding the statement seat for several months, and have liked the seating position it gives, even though it is undeniably hard as a marble slab. Was figuring on putting the stock seat back on for the long ride, but when I tried it out again I realized that I just like the statement seat better for riding position; it's just different enough to feel more natural to me, and also to not cut into my inner thighs. But I will definitely have an iron butt by the end of the trip! I have a thin gel pad coming in the mail, which I may use depending on how it feels, but not sure about that.
Anyway, riding two slow, back road days from Wash DC up to New York state, then a day riding around there, then two slow days back. I did the same ride last year on a Moto Guzzi racer, which was fun but after five hours a day I was feeling the crunch. The Bobber is not quite built for comfort either, but hoping to feel a bit better than on the Racer. Will report back..
