British Legends (France) tail tidy: report

Te
he tail tidy has arrived from France. Initial response is positive. It is nicely cut and formed.

The disappointing part is that the web page claims that the fitting is completely reversible which I suppose it is as far as mechanical fitting goes. There are no instructions which is fair enough, so I contacted them and asked how they had resolved the wiring. The response was - "Sorry, we do not have more documents/infos than what is on the site, this is a new product just launched and we still need to do a proper set of instructions (when we get a bike and the time to do so...)
We are also trying to get a "plug&play" connecting loom but this will take a while.

In other words, they have only bolted it onto a Bobber but not wired it.
This means that I have to resolve the wiring myself. I am a resourceful bloke but just a bit miffed, expecting to fit this easily.

So, how to make connections to the loom and then enclose them. I want to keep the original pin ends on the loom so maybe buy a Bobber (light side) socket or simliar from somewhere and refit with my wires so that I can plug into the original socket on the bike.
Then how to enclose that and hide it.

I have Rizoma rears to fit. Gees - do I need the resistors as well? Maybe I need a pannier to put the wiring in
More to think about!

I've never taken the Bobber's rear apart but Triumph offer optional shorty indicators for front and back, which must be plug 'n' play. So if you can get your hands on OEM compatible connectors (like they have) and splice them to your Rizomas, wiring should be a piece of cake and totally reversible. How to enclose and hide them, well that's for you to figure out?

From everything I've seen online you shouldn't have to add resisters just go through the setup options on your dash.

That's what I meant by getting a Bobber (light side) socket or simliar from somewhere and refit with my wires so that I can plug into the original socket on the bike.

I'd try your dealer they must have them...failing that there's lots of adaptors out there Revzilla certainly do them as do Motone and I wouldn't be surprised if Rizoma did them too.

That's a disappointing result from British (French) Legends. Their advertising certainly implies their kit is everything you need

Would the kit work with the new Triumph multi function lights??

Iíd expect these to have the correct connectors already in place..

If you look you will see the arm is shaped and not just a circular meeting surface.

Hey Chezqui,

Did you ever get the British Legends tail tidy sorted? If you have I'd love to see some pictures, I'm not sure it's exactly right for me but it's the best I've seen...so maybe?
