A trip across to France - Anyone fancy making up a group to travel?

So Mike and I fancy the idea of a trip across to France with our Bobbers.

Just testing the water to see if anyone else is interested in coming along?

This is the sort of thing>

I want to go over this year, maybe a couple of times, have never been before, not even got a passport (well I am only 66) do not know when yet or how far or on which bike, but it will not be on a tour I prefer to do my own thing. I do want to pay my respects to the fallen whilst over there.

Hi Les,

Iíve done a good few runs out there in various o cars over the years but never on a bike.

Iíve messaged Chezqui regarding the guided tour element... as Iím feeling more inclined to plot the locations and routes myself as itís part of the fun. I think a small group of us moving at our own pace is the way forward.

July is looking likely at the moment for me... personally looking to head out there for 9 days total... but people can come along for less days if thatís what suits them.

Would love to have you onboard for all or part of the trip

Hey, if you have any questions I'm happy to throw in my 2 cents/pence as I did this last year. I'm actually penciling another trip this year but nothing firm yet.

Might well be interested myself. Was thinking about going solo at some stage this year. It will depend dates, cost, length of trip etc, but at some stage this year i'm crossing the water, would be good to possibly meet up.

You would be more than welcome to join us.
I believe we are toying with July or possible August at the moment as that should offer good/stable weather.

Iím looking to go for no more than 9 days... but obviously people can leave earlier if that works for them. Cost wise... well it will work out cheaper if we book places to stay in advance and double up to split the cost of rooms. So even numbers would be ideal. Having said that, Iíve looked at Airbnb costs in various locations and decent, humble accommodation with good bike parking can be had for between £45-£80 per night depending on location. Itís of course possible to pay more but to my mind I donít need luxury, just somewhere basic/clean and with good parking for the bike and Iím happy enough.

I’d be there in a heartbeat Chez, if only I didn’t live across all this water. Sounds like
much fun

I would, too but, I’m generally not in Spain in the summer as I come back to the Pacific NW to ride here during the usually fantastic weather in Washington, Oregon and California during that time. If I was on the Continent, I’d even consider renting a moto just to meet up. I think a lot of us will have to settle for following your trip vicariously.
