Ground Clearance Variations
There has been some discussion around ground clearance, so I thought I would start a dedicated thread for those who may be interested. I'm a pretty sedate rider these days, so not so important to me. Besides if I crank my bike over that much it would probably frighten the life out of me, so will leave such riding to those younger or braver than I.
I'm running Triumph Footboards, so we will need stock, forward and rear- sets (DR?) for a complete pictures. Possibly aftermarket pegs too.
Bike is a 2018 Bobber Black with stock suspension all around.
Measurements taken on level ground with the bike upright. Ignore the jack, it's just pinched up to stop the bike falling over.
As you can see the rear clearance is 9 1/2" and the front 11 1/2" .
Manually leaning the bike over it looks like it would bottom out at the center point.
THAT GIVES A MAGIC NUMBER OF 10 3/4"
The footboards are hinged so it would give around 1/2". Also there is a little 'replaceable' alloy plate, should one get carried away.
