I have riden the dragons tail on my BMW in the past. It’s an absolute blast. There are a few photographers taking pictures as you ride through and post them on the web to be found later and purchased. I didn’t buy any as I looked lame because I thought I was leaning WAY over and the pics showed otherwise! Google “tail of the dragon pictures” and you’ll find lots of pics and links to some of the photographers pictures as well. The entire area has been a motorcycle heaven for awhile now, with Airbnb facilities nearby. Other roads in the area to ride too. It’s at the south end of the 400+ mile Blue Ridge Parkway which is a beautiful ride too. Time for a road trip!!

I have ridden and driven The Dragon several times. It's a lot of fun. Avoid it on weekends.

Also try the Cherohala Skyway. It is in the same general vicinity and more fun to ride IMHO.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is great too!

I rode the Dragon last spring on my Speedmaster. Its a lot of fun but I actually liked the Skyway more than the actual Dragon.

Totally agree. The Cherohala Parkway (or Skyway?) is the one to ride. 43 miles and a lot of absolutely stunning scenery. The Blue Ridge is definitely a beautiful ride too, but there can be a lot of cars on the weekends and, as I remember, there are no services (don't ask how I know this as it brings back memories of having to get off and running out of fuel 2 mi. before getting to a station. Fortunately, the guy I was riding with had just enough to limp on fumes in and bring back some gas). The Dragon? For me, just to you say you've done it.

Pop over to Scotland and try your hand on the road to
or something much easier but still huge heaps of fun like the
(seen many bike runs degenerate into just running the loop in the past )

0-60 in .......oh! wait.... I really don't care anymore (but it's still 1200cc of raw throbbing Trumpet so bugger off Mr.Scooter!)

Great videos. Almost like being there or at least in a video moto game. 👍

If your a Bond fan(Goldfinger), also in Switzerland is the Furka pass, also best done out of season, but this leads to other roads: Take a right to Innertkirchen and then loop back to Wassen. Most likely snow up there.

The Tail of the Dragon is fun, I prefer Virginia's Back of the Dragon myself, and its closer. Also - there are literally hundreds of roads in the vacinity of the Dragons that offer spectacular views and challenges, plus interesting towns to visit. Overall, you could spend a week in the area and still find new roads to explore.

I've spent my fortune on wine, women, and motorcycles. The rest I wasted on everything else.
