Do I have a leak or something else?

Hi Gents,

I'm no mechanic, not even close, so a little help from the more technical minded would be great and before I embarrass myself and give my dealer a call.

I have had my new bike a couple of months now and have noticed the occasional 'drip' under the engine. Is this a leak of some sort or something else. Pic attached for thoughts?

Cheerio,

Roy

Looks like oil. Over lubing the chain by chance? If that answer is no , you have the 1200 leak. Welcome to the club.

Hi BB,

Looks like it then (I never oil the chain), so I will give the dealer a shout.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Cheers,

Roy

Likely just a galley plug. That is a common 1200 area to leak. Don't lose too much sleep.

Thanks for that, good to know.

I just got off the phone and I'm heading down to the dealer tomorrow. I've been looking for a reason to get back there, so a day out it is. The mechanic was fully booked but the owner stepped up and said he will take care of it personally, so can't complain at that.

Fingers crossed back home tomorrow night and all fixed.

Cheerio,

Roy

Update.

Just back from a morning ride to the dealer. This has now been fixed (on warranty). Apparently a 'plug' had vibrated loose..

Will keep an eye on it but hopefully that has solved the issue. Very appreciative of the support and help BB.

Cheerio,

Roy
