U.K. road trip ideas from Kent Area?

Hi all,

Myself and my better half have decided to buck heading abroad this year and to stay within the U.K. for around 5 days. We both ride, myself the Bobber Black and she has a Bonneville T100.

In an ideal world we would like to ride to a nice scenic location that affords nice riding roads for days out in the area. We will look to stay in an Airbnb or something of that nature and it would also be great to have a few nice places to eat and drink that aren’t a million miles away.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

A couple of years back I drove to Scotland for a holiday. Scottish Highlands are fantastic, but a long way to go.

On the way we drove through the Pennines which was spectacular. I went Middleton-in-Teesdale to Alston to Melmerby and it was a great route. There was even a biker cafe halfway along the second leg, but it burnt down recently.

I reckon anywhere in that area with the Lake District, North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales would be worth a ride.

Devon and Cornwall, Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia also worth a look.

With only 5days I wouldn’t travel too far as it would be a shame to spend two full days of your holiday on the motorway! If I were you I’d aim for the West Country or Wales, but if you do fancy a trip North Derbyshire has some great roads and scenery and Triumph's factory museum would be a cool place to break the journey either on the way up or on the way down.

Peak district is great for a few days and not too far also Dorset and Devon. Isle of Purbeck , Durdle Dor, Lullworth Cove, Lyme Regis etc.

A39 in north Devon is a good road with some great scenery, in fact it's number 4 on this list:

RAC Best Bike Routes

I did find a website once of biking routes arounf the UK but I can't remember it now. Here's a couple I found today:

Motogoloco
Best Rides although it's not working 100% for me.

I literally just downloaded the BBR app for my iPhone... not had a chance to look over it properly as yet but it looks jam packed full of good routes

Thanks for all the suggestions folks... plenty of research I can do based on that
